Who we are
Two companies, one team in front of you.
Provelis is the name Zuzani Group and SmartImage go to market under. It is worth understanding the shape, because it decides who you are contracting with.
The structure
Who does what, and who signs what.
| What they bring | What they contract | |
|---|---|---|
| Zuzani Group | The people, the process and the client relationship. A South African consulting and managed service provider, founded 2014, based in Johannesburg. B-BBEE Level 1. | The service agreement |
| SmartImage | The platform, the implementation and the technical depth. A South African software company, founded 2014, based in Pretoria. | The software licence, separately |
| Provelis | The brand the two go to market under. | Nothing. It is a name, not a counterparty |
Two agreements rather than one is deliberate, and it is how an outsourced function usually looks: a service contract with the people who do the work, and a licence for the software behind it. You deal with one team.
Why it is built this way
The function, not the tool.
Three things get sold separately in this market. A bureau will take custody of your paper. A software vendor will license you a system and leave you to run it. A consultancy will run a project that ends.
The buyer is left assembling three suppliers into a capability they do not have the people to operate, which is why so many document projects look finished and are not.
Provelis exists because those three should be one thing. Zuzani brings people who do document control as their actual job. SmartImage brings a platform that has been in production for over a decade. Neither half works without the other.
Being straight with you
What we would want to know if we were you.
Provelis is new. The two companies behind it are not, and the platform certainly is not, but the joint venture is recent and we are not going to dress that up with invented case studies.
The proof on this site belongs to SmartImage. The 500 million pages and the 443 organisations are the platform's record, not Provelis's, and we label them as such everywhere they appear.
We do not publish client names. Not on this site, and not in a pitch. Some of that is permission and some of it is that a document control supplier advertising who its clients are has misunderstood the job.
You can ask for references. What we can share, and on what terms, depends on the client's permission, and we will tell you honestly which is which rather than implying more than we have.
Who we work with
Four practices, one problem.
Someone with authority asks for a specific document, and it has to be produced, in full, that day.
Health practices
A patient file requested for a claim, a complaint or a referral, split across paper, the practice system and email.
Health practices →Legal
The matter file, and the chronological bundle built by hand from years of correspondence.
Legal →Financial services
The client record an auditor or a compliance review asks for, held across whatever systems the practice grew into.
Financial services →Engineering
The current revision of a drawing, the transmittal record proving it was issued, and a handover that has to be complete.
Engineering →The partnership
Provelis is delivered by Zuzani Group and runs on the SmartImage platform. Zuzani contracts the service, SmartImage licenses the software, and you deal with one team.
